Reputation Management

Reputation Management for Electricians That Starts When the Lights Come On.

People hire an electrician on trust, because a stranger is about to open the walls of their home. The review they read first is about a price that changed or a crew that never showed. The careful, tidy jobs go unmentioned. We ask after every job and answer every complaint with the real reason.

  • Homeowners reading electrician reviews look for three things: whether the crew showed up when promised, whether the price matched the quote, and whether the house was left clean.
  • Asking after every job keeps reviews recent through busy and slow months. Asking only the customers you expect to be happy breaks Google’s policies.
  • A reply to a price complaint explains in general terms what changed once the panel or the wall was opened, and that the customer approved it, without arguing in public.
  • Paying or discounting for reviews is off the table: Google’s rules forbid it, and the FTC review rule that took effect in October 2024 outlaws fake reviews and rewards for positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why a careful electrician can read as late and expensive.

The tidy job nobody mentions

A clean panel swap, the drywall patched and the floor swept is exactly the visit that earns a review, and exactly the one nobody asks about. The crew is already on the road to the next house.

The price that moved

The wall came open and the old wiring was worse than it looked, so the job grew. The customer agreed at the time but posts later that the final bill doubled, and with no reply that is the only version anyone reads.

The missed arrival window

An earlier job ran long, the office never called ahead and the homeowner took the morning off for nothing. The review lands that afternoon, and every reader assumes you are always late.

“Clint and the BlakSheep Creative team are so detailed, organized and strategic in their approach to building websites. They consider your entire digital footprint beyond just your website. BlakSheep is a great asset and addition to our marketing efforts!”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request after every job

A text with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent when the job is marked complete. With Grow it fires from the finished job, not from a tech remembering to ask on the way out. Grow for electricians

Problems reach you first

That text also asks how the work went. A customer who mentions a breaker that still trips, a fixture that flickers or a question about the bill hears from the office the same day. Nobody is left off the review list, since screening who gets asked is against Google’s rules.

Every review answered

Each review gets a reply in your voice: a short thank you that names the work in general terms for a good one, such as a panel upgrade or a lighting job, and a calm, specific answer for a bad one.

Price and scheduling complaints handled honestly

A reply that explains in general terms why a job grew, such as wiring found behind a wall, or why the crew ran late, and what the shop does to keep customers informed. If the office failed to call ahead or a quote was wrong, the reply says so.

Reporting what Google will act on

A review from someone you never worked for, a made-up one, or one clearly about a different electrical company is flagged to Google under the rule it breaks. Google makes the call. Honest complaints stay public and get an answer.

Real reviews where buyers decide

Strong reviews shown on the matching service page, so a generator customer’s words sit beside the generator section and a panel customer’s beside the panel section. Review markup goes only on reviews a visitor can actually see there.

The profile the stars sit on

Reviews appear on your Google Business Profile, and the categories, services and service area that decide whether you show in the map are a separate job. Google Business Profile for electricians

The short answer

Reputation management for electricians is earning and answering the reviews homeowners read before they let someone into their walls. We send a review request after every finished job, reply to every review in your voice, answer price and scheduling complaints honestly, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews on the service pages they describe.

Common questions about reputation management for electricians

When should an electrician ask for a review?
When the job is done and the lights are back on, or within the hour after. The relief is fresh and the crew is still a name, not just a company. A text with a one-tap link works better than a card left on the counter. Ask every customer, from a single outlet to a whole rewire.
How should we reply to a review saying the price went up?
Calmly and for the next reader. Thank them, explain in general terms what the crew found once the work was opened up, and note that the change was discussed before it was done, if it was. Invite them to call the owner. If the quote was simply wrong, say so and say what will change.
What about a review saying we were late or never showed?
Apologize for the time it cost them and give the honest reason in general terms, such as an earlier job that ran long. If nobody called ahead, own that and explain how the office now lets customers know. Homeowners forgive a delay far more easily than silence about it.
Can we offer a discount for a review?
No. Google bans incentives for reviews of any kind, and since October 2024 the FTC review rule makes rewards for positive reviews and fake reviews illegal. A plain, one-tap request to every customer is enough, and a rating built on real jobs is the only kind worth having when a homeowner reads it.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Only when it breaks one of Google’s rules: it is fake, it comes from someone who never hired you, or it describes another company. We flag those and name the rule, and Google rules on it. Real complaints remain, which makes your reply the one part you control and the part future customers read.
Can we send the review link only to happy customers?
No. Choosing who gets the link based on whether they seemed pleased is called review gating, and Google forbids it. Send it to every customer. The message can still ask how the job went first, so a problem reaches the office before it reaches the internet, but nobody is skipped.
