Reputation Management

Reputation Management for Home Theater Installers Who Leave No Wires Showing.

Customers rarely review a TV that hangs level with every cable out of sight. They do review the sound system that dropped its connection a week later and the callback that took days. We ask every customer after the install and answer setup and callback complaints with what really happened.

  • Buyers reading installer reviews look for a clean job, a system that kept working after the van left, and an installer who came back quickly when it did not.
  • The best moment to ask is when the customer is holding the remote and everything works. A day later, the excitement has turned into normal life.
  • Many after-install complaints come from a setting that changed, an update or a home network that dropped. A reply that explains this kindly, and offers a visit, reads better than blame.
  • Rewards for reviews are not allowed: Google’s rules forbid them, and the FTC review rule effective October 2024 bans fake reviews and incentives tied to positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why a careful installer can read as unreliable.

Clean installs go unreviewed

The TV is level, the wires vanished into the wall and the customer said it looks amazing. Nobody asked for a review before the van pulled away, so the best work you did all week never appears online.

The system that stopped working

A week later the sound drops out or the remote stops controlling the TV. The cause may be an update or the customer’s network, but the review says the install failed, and with no reply that is the story.

The slow callback

The customer called for help, you were on installs all week and got back to them on Friday. The review says nobody answered, and every reader wonders whether you will disappear after their job too.

“I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Sanchez give a talk at a local Livingston Parish Chamber event recently. His passion shined through and was very generous with his time after the talk. Highly recommend.”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request after every install

A text with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent when the job is marked complete. With Grow it goes out from the finished job, not from an installer remembering while packing the ladder. Grow for home theater installers

Problems reach you first

The message also asks how everything is working. A customer who mentions sound dropping out or a remote that will not pair gets a call back that day. Every customer still receives the link, because choosing who is asked goes against Google’s rules.

Every review answered

Each review gets a reply in your voice: a short thank you that names the work in general terms for a good one, such as a fireplace mount or a theater, and a calm, specific answer for a bad one.

Setup and callback complaints handled honestly

A reply that explains in general terms what usually causes a problem after install, such as an update or a network change, and how to reach you for a fix. If the install was at fault or the callback was slow, the reply says so.

Flagging what breaks the rules

Reviews from someone who never hired you, invented ones and reviews meant for another installer are flagged to Google with the rule they break. Google decides what comes down. Genuine complaints remain and get an answer.

Reviews beside the work they describe

A theater review on the theater page, a mounting review on the mounting page, and customer photos alongside where they were shared, with review markup used only on reviews a visitor can see on that page.

The profile the stars sit on

Reviews appear on your Google Business Profile, and the categories, services and photos that decide whether you show in the map are a separate job. Google Business Profile for home theater installers

The short answer

Reputation management for home theater installers is earning and answering the reviews people read before they let an installer into the living room. We send a review request after every install, reply to every review in your voice, answer setup and callback complaints honestly, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews, with photos where customers add them, on your service pages.

Common questions about reputation management for home theater installers

When should a home theater installer ask for a review?
Right after the walkthrough, while the customer is holding the remote and the system works. A text with a one-tap link that arrives before you leave the driveway gets far more answers than a card. Ask every customer, from a single TV mount to a full theater, and invite them to add a photo.
How should we reply when a review says the system stopped working?
Calmly and helpfully. Thank them, explain in general terms that updates or network changes can affect a system after install, and offer to come back and fix it. Never blame the customer. If the install itself was the cause, say so and say what you did about it.
What about a review saying we never called back?
Apologize and give the honest reason in general terms, such as a week of full install days. Then say how customers can reach you now and how fast you answer. A reply like that tells every reader you take support seriously, which is the real worry behind the review.
Can we give a free calibration or discount for a review?
No. Google prohibits incentives of any kind for reviews, and the FTC rule that took effect in October 2024 bans rewards for positive reviews and bans fake reviews outright. A simple one-tap request to every customer works, and a rating built on real installs is the one buyers trust.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Only when it breaks Google’s rules, such as a fake review, one from someone who never hired you, or one about a different installer. We flag those with the rule named, and Google decides. A real complaint stays up, so your reply is the part you control and the part buyers read.
Can we send the review link only to happy customers?
No. Picking who gets the link based on whether they seemed pleased is review gating, and Google forbids it. Send it to everyone. The message can still ask how the system is working first, so a problem reaches you before it reaches your profile, but no customer is left out.
