Google Business Profile

An Electrician Google Business Profile That Rings the Phone.

The lights flicker, then a whole room dies, and the homeowner opens the map. Three electricians appear and yours is not one of them, because the profile shows one category, no services and a service area from years ago. We fix the profile so the map shows the work you really do.

  • Most electricians run a service-area business. If customers never come to your address, it stays hidden and the towns you serve are listed instead.
  • Panels, generators, EV chargers, lighting and troubleshooting are separate searches. Entering each as its own service gives Google something to match.
  • Emergency hours have to be true. A profile that suggests round the clock service when the office closes at five earns a bad review from the first late caller.
  • Google no longer offers the questions and answers feature on Business Profiles, so common questions belong in your description and the FAQ on your website.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why the electrician down the road gets the call.

One category, no services

The profile says electrician and stops. Someone searching for a generator install or an EV charger sees nothing that says you do it, and the listing that names every job looks like the safer call.

A service area that is out of date

The towns listed are the ones you served when the profile was made. The newer subdivisions where most of your work is now are missing, and the far town you stopped driving to keeps sending calls you turn down.

No photos of real work

The only images are a logo and a truck from a distance. Homeowners want to see a clean panel, finished lighting and the people who will be in their house, and the listing beside yours shows all of it.

“BlakSheep was everything we needed and then some. They built us an amazing website, replied quickly to every question, and went above and beyond to get our site up and running as fast as possible. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an experienced, innovative marketing team.”

What you get

Built to book the job.

Categories checked at setup

Your primary category set to the closest match in Google’s current list, confirmed on the day we do it, with secondaries only for work you really do, not every job you would like to do.

Every service entered on its own

Troubleshooting, panel upgrades, rewiring, generator installs, EV charger installs, lighting, ceiling fans, surge protection and commercial service, each with a plain description in your words.

A service area that matches the trucks

The towns and areas you really work in, set as a service-area business with the address hidden if customers never visit it, and updated when your territory changes.

Hours and contact that tell the truth

Regular hours, holiday hours and after hours service shown only if you offer it, with the same name, phone and address on the site and the major directories, so Google and the homeowner see one answer.

Photos and posts from your jobs

Panels before and after, lighting, chargers, generators and the crew, with the homeowner’s permission and no house numbers showing, added on a schedule with posts about seasonal work such as storm season generator checks.

Reviews asked for when the job is done

Profile fixes can move quickly; reviews build over months. The ask goes out when the lights are back on and the invoice is paid. Collecting and answering reviews is its own job. Reputation management for electricians

The site behind the profile

The profile links to a site, and the service pages there are what Google reads to confirm what you do. The ranking work on those pages runs alongside this. Electrician SEO

The short answer

An electrician Google Business Profile decides whether you appear in the map when someone searches for an electrician near me or a job such as a panel upgrade. We confirm your categories against Google’s current list, enter each service, set a service area that matches where your trucks go, keep hours and phone in step with the site, and add photos from your own jobs.

Common questions about google business profile for electricians

What Google category should an electrician use?
The closest match to your main work from Google’s current list, which we check at setup because it changes. Secondary categories go on only for work you really do and want more of. Adding a category for a job you rarely take can show you for searches you then have to turn down.
Should an electrician hide the business address?
If customers never come to it, yes. Most electricians work at the customer’s home or building, so the profile is set up as a service-area business with the address hidden and your towns listed. Showing a home address as if it were a shop breaks Google’s guidelines and can get the listing suspended.
Should we list emergency or after hours service?
Only if someone really answers. If you take after hours calls, say so in the description and set hours that reflect it. If you do not, keep the regular hours accurate. A homeowner who calls at midnight because the profile suggested it and gets voicemail tends to leave a review.
Can homeowners still ask questions on our profile?
No. Google has discontinued the questions and answers feature on Business Profiles, so we do not offer it. Questions about service call fees, the areas you cover and how soon you can come out go in your description, your services and the FAQ on your website, where people and Google both find them.
What photos should an electrician add?
Finished panels, lighting jobs, chargers and generators, the trucks, and the people who do the work, with permission. Leave out house numbers and anything that identifies a customer’s home. Add new photos regularly. Real job photos show a homeowner that you are active and careful in other people’s houses.
How fast does profile work show up?
Category, service and service area fixes can change where you appear within a few weeks. Reviews build more slowly, and nobody controls how far a searcher is from you. Starting the review ask in the same week is what keeps the profile getting stronger after the setup is done.
Can we have a separate profile for commercial work?
Usually not. Google expects one profile per business, and duplicate listings for the same company can be suspended. Commercial work belongs in your services and description, with commercial project photos, and the website carries a commercial page that the profile can point to when the search calls for it.
