Reputation Management

Salon Reputation Management, One Chair at a Time.

Clients leave your chair thrilled, rebook, and post the look to their own feed, but never to your Google profile. The one client whose color went brassy writes a long review instead. Now that is the first thing a new client reads. We ask every client at checkout and answer every review.

  • New clients choose a salon from photos and reviews, and they look for reviews that mention the stylist and the service they want.
  • Right after checkout and the rebook is when to ask. Asking every client, not only the regulars, keeps the request within Google’s policies.
  • A color complaint answered kindly in public, with an invitation to come back for an adjustment, often reassures the next reader more than another five-star review.
  • Google’s policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards tied to positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why busy salons end up with quiet profiles.

The ask gets lost at the desk

Checkout is the card reader, the rebook, the product sale and the next client waiting. Asking for a review falls off the list, so happy regulars never write one and the profile goes quiet.

One color correction review

A client wanted an icy blonde and left warmer than they hoped. Their review sits at the top with no reply, and every new client scrolling for a colorist reads it first.

Stylists never get named

Reviews that say great salon do little for a new stylist or a booth renter building a book. A client looking for a particular stylist finds nothing on the profile that ties that name to good work.

“Black sheep creative created me a website that is fully functional and looks amazing! They were quick and worked with me effectively in order to create the website that I always envisioned for my company!”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request after every appointment

A text with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent to every client after their visit, with a line inviting them to mention their stylist. With Grow it goes out on its own, so the front desk does not have to remember. Grow for hair salons

Problems reach you first

The same message asks how the visit went. Anyone unhappy with their color or cut hears from the salon that day with an invitation to come back in. Everyone still gets the review link, because filtering who is asked breaks Google’s policies.

Every review answered

Each review gets a reply in your voice: a warm thank you that credits the stylist for a good one, and a calm, kind answer for a bad one, without discussing a client’s hair history or appearance in public.

Color and wait complaints handled with care

A reply that acknowledges what the client expected, invites them back for an adjustment, and gives a direct way to reach the owner. If the salon ran late or missed the mark, the reply says so. Clients forgive a salon that makes it right.

Policy reports, not removals

Fake reviews, posts from someone who was never a client and reviews meant for another salon are reported with the specific Google policy cited. Google decides. A genuine complaint stays up and gets a reply.

Reviews on each stylist’s page

Your best reviews placed on the stylist and service pages they mention, such as a balayage review on the page of the stylist who did it, with review markup only where those reviews are visible on the page.

The profile the stars sit on

Reviews show on your Google Business Profile, and the categories, services, booking link, hours and photos that decide whether you appear in the map pack are a separate job. Google Business Profile for hair salons

The short answer

Salon reputation management is making sure the reviews a new client reads match the work your stylists actually do. We send a review request to every client after checkout, invite them to name their stylist, reply to every review in your voice, answer color and wait time complaints with an offer to make it right, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews on each stylist’s page.

Common questions about reputation management for hair salons

When should a salon ask for a review?
Right after checkout or within a few hours, once the client has seen the result in their own mirror and rebooked. A text with a one-tap link beats a card at the desk. Ask every client, new and regular, and invite them to mention their stylist by name.
How should we reply when a client hated their color?
Kindly, briefly and for the next reader. Thank them, say you want them to love their hair, and invite them back to talk with the stylist or the owner about an adjustment. Do not argue about what they asked for or describe their hair in public.
Do reviews that name a stylist matter?
Yes, in a practical way. A review that names a stylist and a service tells a new client exactly who to book for that look, and it helps a stylist building a clientele. We place those reviews on each stylist’s page on your site.
Can we give a discount on the next visit for a review?
No. Google’s policies do not allow incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans rewards conditioned on positive reviews and bans fake ones outright. Ask every client with no strings attached, make it one tap, and let honest reviews from your chairs carry the rating over time.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Only if it breaks Google’s policies, such as a fake review, one from someone who was never a client, or one about a different business. We report those with the policy cited, and Google decides. A genuine complaint about a visit stays up, so the reply is what you control.
Can we only ask the clients who rebooked?
No. Sending the link only to clients who said they were satisfied is review gating, and Google’s policies prohibit it. Ask everyone. The same message can ask how the visit went so you hear about a problem first and can fix it, but every one of them still gets the link.
