Reputation Management

Restaurant Reputation Management, Run Every Week.

Dinner service went perfectly for a full room, and not one of those guests thought to post about it. The table that waited on a cold plate wrote a long review before they got home. Diners choosing tonight’s spot read that one first. We ask every guest we can reach and answer every review.

  • Diners choosing where to eat tonight read the newest reviews and the owner’s replies, so a steady flow of recent ones matters more than an old high rating.
  • Every guest you have a number or email for, from online orders, reservations and catering, can get a request. Asking only the happy ones breaks Google’s policies.
  • A gracious reply to a complaint about a slow night or a wrong order is written for the next diner reading it, not to win the argument.
  • Google’s policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards tied to positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why busy restaurants end up with lopsided profiles.

Happy guests just go home

Most diners who loved the meal pay, tip and leave. Nobody asks, there is no link on the receipt, and the profile fills mostly with people who had something to complain about.

One rough night sets the tone

Two servers called out, the kitchen fell behind and a few tables waited too long. Those reviews sit at the top for weeks with no reply, and they read like every night.

Replies written after close

When the owner does answer, it is after a double shift and it defends the kitchen line by line. The next diner does not care who was right. They notice the tone and book somewhere else.

“BlackSheepnCreative is a joy to work with. Clint gets to know what his customers vision is then brings it to life with exceptional graphic designs. Five stars!”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request after every order you can reach

A text or email with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent after online orders, reservations and catering events, plus a link on receipts or table cards for walk-in diners. With Grow it fires from the order or booking, not from a manager remembering after close. Grow for restaurants

Problems reach the manager first

The same message asks how the meal was. Anyone who says something went wrong gets a reply from the manager that day. Everyone still gets the review link, because filtering who is asked breaks Google’s policies.

Every review answered

Each Google review gets a reply in your voice: a warm thank you that names a dish or the occasion in general terms for a good one, and a gracious, specific answer for a bad one.

Slow-night complaints handled with grace

A reply that thanks the guest, owns the wait or the wrong order without blaming staff, says what the restaurant is changing and invites them back or to reach the manager. If the kitchen got it wrong, the reply says so.

Policy reports, not removals

Fake reviews, posts from someone who never visited and reviews meant for another restaurant are reported on Google with the specific policy cited. Google decides. A genuine complaint stays up and gets a reply.

Reviews on your site, marked up honestly

Your best reviews placed on the pages they describe, such as a catering review on the catering page, with review markup only where those reviews are visible on the page.

The profile the stars sit on

Reviews show on your Google Business Profile, and the menu, hours, photos and categories that decide whether you appear in the map pack are a separate job. Google Business Profile for restaurants

The short answer

Restaurant reputation management means more recent reviews from real guests and a thoughtful reply under every one, and SE Ranking shows 110 US searches a month for the phrase. We send review requests after online orders, reservations and catering, add a review link to receipts and table cards, reply to every Google review in your voice, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and keep watch on the other sites your guests use.

Common questions about reputation management for restaurants

How do we ask diners for reviews without bothering them?
Ask once, after the meal, and make it one tap. Guests who ordered online, reserved a table or booked catering get a short text or email. Walk-in diners see a link on the receipt or a table card. No pressure at the table, no repeated reminders, and the same ask for everyone.
How should we reply to a review about a slow night?
Graciously and briefly. Thank them, acknowledge the wait without blaming staff, say what the restaurant is doing about it, and invite them back or to contact the manager. Do not argue the timeline in public. Diners know kitchens have hard nights; they judge how the owner responds.
What about reviews on sites other than Google?
Guests post on more than one site, and the ones that matter depend on your restaurant. We monitor Google and Facebook as standard and watch any others you name, so you see what guests are saying in one place and nothing sits unanswered for long without you knowing.
Can we offer a free dessert for a review?
No. Google’s policies do not allow incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans rewards conditioned on positive reviews and bans fake ones outright. Ask every guest with no strings attached, make it one tap, and let honest reviews carry the rating over time.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Only if it breaks Google’s policies, such as a fake review, one from someone who never visited, or one about a different restaurant. We report those with the policy cited, and Google decides. A genuine complaint about your food or service stays up, so the reply is the part you control.
Can we only send the review link to guests who were happy?
No. Sending the link only to guests who said they enjoyed the meal is review gating, and Google’s policies prohibit it. Ask everyone. The same message can ask how the meal was so the manager hears about a problem first, but every guest still gets the link.
