Reputation Management

Towing Reviews, Asked For at Drop-Off.

Stranded at midnight, a caller remembers two things: how long the truck took and what the bill said. Rescued drivers rarely think to post, but the owner of a car pulled from a private lot posts every time. We ask after every call and answer fee and wait complaints plainly.

  • A driver on the shoulder picks a tow company fast, and recent reviews that mention a fair bill and an honest arrival time are what they look for.
  • Asking every customer after the call, including owners who pick up a car from your lot, keeps reviews recent. Asking only the grateful ones breaks Google’s policies.
  • An angry review from someone whose car was towed is a real experience and stays up. A calm reply that explains the process is written for the next reader.
  • Google’s policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards tied to positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why honest towing companies collect one-star reviews.

Nobody asks on the shoulder

The driver hooks up, drops the car at the shop, and is off to the next call before the customer has caught their breath. The rescue goes unrecorded, and the profile sits for weeks with nothing new.

Impound reviews outnumber rescues

Police and private property tows produce reviews from people who never chose you and are furious about the release fee. Those reviews are real, so they stay, and without replies they drown out the drivers you helped.

A long wait with no context

A motor club quoted one arrival time, the truck came later, and the review blames the tower. With no reply, the next driver assumes slow is normal and calls someone else.

“BlakSheep Creative is amazing with the ability to take an idea from a conversation and bring it to life! From custom logo to website design, call BlakSheep!”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request after every call

A text with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent to the customer when the call is closed out. With Grow it fires from the completed job, not from a driver remembering on the way to the next hookup. Grow for towing companies

Problems reach dispatch first

The same message asks how the tow went. Anyone who mentions damage, a billing question or a rude moment gets a call from the office that day. Everyone still gets the review link, because filtering who is asked breaks Google’s policies.

Every review answered

Each review gets a reply in your voice: a short thank you that mentions the kind of call in general terms for a good one, and a calm, specific answer for a bad one, with no plate, address or vehicle details in public.

Fee and wait time complaints handled honestly

A reply that explains in general terms how the bill was built, such as hookup, mileage, after-hours or storage, and says so when a rate on a police or private property tow is set by a local rule or contract. For a long wait, it gives the honest reason. If dispatch got it wrong, the reply says so.

Policy reports, not removals

Fake reviews, posts from someone who never dealt with you and reviews meant for another tow company are reported with the specific Google policy cited. Google decides. A genuine complaint, including one about an impound, stays up and gets a reply.

Reviews on your site, marked up honestly

Your best reviews placed on the service pages they describe, such as a lockout review on the roadside page and a heavy-duty review on the heavy towing page, with review markup only where those reviews are visible on the page.

The profile the stars sit on

Reviews show on your Google Business Profile, and the categories, service area, hours and photos that decide whether you appear in the map pack are a separate job. Google Business Profile for towing companies

The short answer

Towing reviews are what a stranded driver scans before calling. SE Ranking shows 210 US searches a month for the phrase, against 246,000 for towing near me. We send a review request after every completed call, reply to every review in your voice, answer fee and wait time complaints honestly, reply calmly to impound and private property tow reviews, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews on your site.

Common questions about reputation management for towing companies

When should a towing company ask for a review?
Soon after drop-off, while the relief is fresh. A text with a one-tap link works better than a card handed over on the shoulder. Ask every customer you serve, and if you run motor club calls, check your agreement for any rules about contacting their members.
How should we reply to a review that calls our fees a ripoff?
Calmly and for the next reader. Thank them, explain in general terms what the charge covered, such as the hookup, distance, time of night or storage, and offer the office’s number to go over the invoice. If a fee was set by a local rule or a police contract, say so plainly.
What about a review complaining about the wait?
Give the honest reason in general terms, such as weather, a run of accidents or a call routed through a motor club, without blaming the customer. If the arrival time you gave was wrong, own it and say what changed. Drivers forgive a delay more easily than a promise that was not kept.
Can you remove reviews from people whose car we impounded?
Not because they are angry. A person who paid to get their car back had a real experience, so Google treats the review as genuine. We report reviews that break Google’s policies, such as fake ones or ones about another company, and Google decides. For the rest, a calm, factual reply is what you control.
Can we knock something off the bill for a five-star review?
No. Google’s policies do not allow incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans rewards conditioned on positive reviews and bans fake ones outright. Ask every customer with no strings attached, make it one tap, and let honest reviews carry the rating.
Can we send the link only to roadside customers and skip the impound lot?
No. Choosing who gets asked based on who is likely to be happy is selective solicitation, which Google’s policies prohibit. Ask everyone you serve. The same message can ask how it went so the office hears about a problem first, but every customer still gets the link.
