Reputation Management

Auto Body Shop Reviews, Asked For When the Car Goes Home.

After a wreck, the claim drags, a part sits on backorder, and the customer blames the shop they can see. That frustration lands on your profile, while the people thrilled with the paint match stay quiet. We ask every customer at delivery and answer each review with the facts, calmly.

  • Drivers choosing a body shop look for reviews that mention how the shop handled the insurance claim and kept them updated, not just how the car looked.
  • Asking every customer at delivery, after the walk-around, builds a steady flow of recent reviews. Asking only the happy ones breaks Google’s policies.
  • A reply to an insurance or repair time complaint explains the process in general terms and never posts a claim number, an adjuster’s name or policy details.
  • Google’s policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards tied to positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why careful collision work still draws angry reviews.

The car goes home quietly

The customer walks around the car, sees the panel match, signs and leaves. Everyone at the front desk is on the phone with an adjuster or a parts supplier, so nobody asks, and the good outcome never reaches the profile.

Insurance delays become your review

The adjuster takes days to approve a supplement, or a part sits on backorder for weeks. The customer cannot see any of that. They see their car in your lot, and the review names your shop.

Replies that blame the insurer

A reply that points at the insurance company in public reads as an excuse, even when it is true, and it puts an insurer relationship at risk. The next driver wants to know the shop kept the customer informed.

“BlakSheep was everything we needed and then some. They built us an amazing website, replied quickly to every question, and went above and beyond to get our site up and running as fast as possible. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an experienced, innovative marketing team.”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request at every delivery

A text with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent to every customer when the car is delivered. With Grow it fires when the job is marked complete, not when someone at the desk finds a spare minute. Grow for auto body shops

Problems reach you first

The same message asks how the repair turned out. Anyone who mentions a paint flaw, a gap or a rattle gets a call from the shop that day and an appointment to look. Everyone still gets the review link, because filtering who is asked breaks Google’s policies.

Every review answered

Each review gets a reply in your voice: a short thank you that names the work in general terms for a good one, and a calm, specific answer for a bad one, without sharing claim or policy details in public.

Insurance and repair time complaints handled honestly

A reply that explains in general terms that hidden damage can mean a supplement and that parts timing is sometimes out of the shop’s hands, then says what the shop is doing now and how to reach the owner. If the shop missed an update, the reply says so.

Policy reports, not removals

Fake reviews, posts from someone who was never a customer and reviews meant for another shop are reported with the specific Google policy cited. Google decides. A genuine complaint stays up and gets a reply.

Reviews on your site, marked up honestly

Your best reviews placed on the service pages they describe, such as a paint review on the paint page and a collision review on the collision page, with review markup only where those reviews are visible on the page.

The short answer

Auto body shop reviews are how drivers pick a shop after a wreck. SE Ranking shows 70 US searches a month for the phrase and another 70 for body shop reviews. We send a review request to every customer when the car is delivered, reply to every review in your voice, answer insurance and repair time complaints honestly without posting claim details, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews on your site.

Common questions about reputation management for auto body shops

When should a body shop ask for a review?
At delivery, right after the walk-around, or within the hour after. The car looks right, the stress of the wreck is behind them, and the experience is fresh. A text with a one-tap link beats asking them to look you up later. Ask every customer, insurance jobs and cash jobs alike.
How should we reply when a customer blames us for a slow insurance claim?
Calmly and without pointing fingers. Thank them, explain in general terms that approvals and supplements can add time, say how the shop kept them updated or how it will do better, and give the owner’s direct line. Never post a claim number, an adjuster’s name or policy details.
What about a review saying the repair took too long?
Be honest about why. If a part was on backorder or hidden damage turned up, say so in general terms. If the shop could have given more updates, own that and say what changes. Drivers accept that collision work takes time; they judge whether the shop kept them informed.
Can we waive part of the deductible for a review?
No. Google’s policies do not allow incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans rewards conditioned on positive reviews and bans fake ones outright. Ask every customer with no strings attached, make it one tap, and let honest reviews build the rating.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Only if it breaks Google’s policies, such as a fake review, one from someone who was never a customer, or one about a different shop. We report those with the policy cited, and Google decides. A genuine complaint stays up, so the reply is what you control.
Can we only send the review link to happy customers?
No. Sending the link only to customers who said they were satisfied is review gating, and Google’s policies prohibit it. Ask everyone. The same message can ask how the repair turned out so you hear about a flaw first and can fix it, but every customer still gets the link.
