Reputation Management

Reputation Management for Concrete Contractors That Holds Up.

Hairline cracks show up months after the pour, and the homeowner who never read about control joints posts a one-star review. Meanwhile dozens of clean driveways sit unreviewed because nobody asked. We ask every customer at the walkthrough and answer crack, weather and cleanup complaints with what really happened.

  • Homeowners comparing concrete bids read reviews for three things: whether the crew showed up when promised, whether the finish looked like the quote, and how the contractor handled a problem.
  • Most cracking complaints are about expectations. A reply that explains control joints and normal shrinkage, without arguing, helps the next reader more than it helps the reviewer.
  • A review ask that goes to every customer, sidewalk or full driveway, keeps the newest review recent in the slow months. Sending it only to the people who seemed pleased is against Google’s policies.
  • Trading a discount or a free sealing for a review is off limits under Google’s policies, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards tied to positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why a careful concrete crew can read as careless online.

Clean pours go unreviewed

A driveway goes in square, level and on schedule, the homeowner is thrilled, and the crew is already loading for the next job. Nobody asks for a review, so the best work never shows up online.

The crack review

A thin crack shows up after the first cold snap, the homeowner thinks the job failed, and the review says so. With no reply, every reader assumes the same thing will happen to their driveway.

Rain delays with no explanation

Weather pushed the pour back twice and the customer heard about it late. The review calls the company unreliable, and nobody wrote back to explain why you will not pour on a wet base.

“Amazingly good work for the money. One of the best graphic designers in south Louisiana. Highly recommended.”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request at every walkthrough

A text with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent when the job is marked complete. With Grow it goes out from the finished job, not from a foreman remembering at the end of a long day. Grow for concrete contractors

Problems reach you first

That text also asks how the job turned out. A reply mentioning a crack, ponding water, a rough edge or ruts in the lawn sends a call to the office that day. Nobody is left off the review list, since Google forbids picking who gets asked.

Every review answered

Each review gets a reply in your voice: a short thank you naming the work in general terms for a good one, such as a new driveway or a stamped patio, and a calm, specific answer for a bad one.

Crack, weather and cleanup complaints handled honestly

A reply that explains in general terms what control joints do and which cracks are normal, why a pour waits for dry weather, or what cleanup should have looked like. If the crew got something wrong, the reply says so and says what happens next.

Reporting what breaks the rules

A review from someone you never poured for, a fake, or one that belongs to a different concrete company is flagged to Google with the policy it breaks named. Google makes the call. Honest criticism stays, and it gets an answer.

Reviews on the pages they describe

Your best reviews placed where they fit, such as a driveway review on the driveway page and a stamped patio review on the decorative page, with review markup only where those reviews are visible on the page.

The profile the stars sit on

Reviews show on your Google Business Profile, and the categories, services, service area and photos that decide whether you appear in the map pack are a separate job. Google Business Profile for concrete contractors

The short answer

Reputation management for concrete contractors is earning and answering the reviews homeowners read while they compare bids. We send a review request to every customer at the final walkthrough, reply to every review in your voice, answer complaints about cracks, rain delays and cleanup honestly, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews on the matching pages of your site.

Common questions about reputation management for concrete contractors

When should a concrete contractor ask for a review?
At the final walkthrough, when the homeowner sees the finished surface with the forms gone and the yard cleaned up. A text with a one-tap link works better than asking them to look you up later. Ask every customer, from a short sidewalk to a full driveway, not just the regulars.
How should we reply to a review about cracks?
Calmly and for the next reader. Thank them, explain in general terms that concrete shrinks as it cures and that control joints are cut to guide where cracks form, and invite them to call so someone can look. If the crack is outside what is normal, say so and say what you will do.
What about a review complaining about delays?
Give the honest reason in general terms, such as rain, a wet base or a supplier running late, and apologize for the trouble it caused. If the customer was told late or not at all, own that part. Homeowners forgive weather much more easily than silence about it.
Can we offer a discount for a review?
No. Google does not allow anything of value in exchange for a review, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards conditioned on a positive one. A plain ask after every job, with a link that opens the review box, is all it takes to keep reviews coming.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Sometimes, when it breaks Google’s rules: written by someone who was never your customer, faked, or posted about another concrete company. We flag those and name the policy, and Google decides. A real complaint about a real job will stay, which is why the reply matters so much.
Can we only send the review link to happy customers?
No. Screening customers first and sending the link only to the satisfied ones is called review gating, and Google forbids it. Every homeowner gets the link. The message can still ask how the pour turned out, so a problem reaches you first, but nobody gets filtered out of the ask.
