Reputation Management

Reputation Management for Accounting Firms That Clients Can Trust.

Hundreds of returns go out on time and nobody writes a word. Then one client gets a notice in the mail, or a bill larger than they expected, and posts that night. Prospects read that review first. We ask every client when the work is done and answer without a single client detail.

  • People choosing an accountant read reviews for responsiveness and clear fees. Recent reviews that mention both do more than anything the firm can say about itself.
  • A public reply never confirms that the reviewer is a client, what was filed or what they owe. It thanks them, states the firm’s general practice and moves the conversation offline.
  • Asking every client when the work is done keeps reviews coming in the quiet months too, instead of a burst in April and nothing after.
  • Google’s policies prohibit offering anything for a review and asking only the clients you expect to be happy.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why a careful, accurate firm can read as slow and expensive.

Accurate work goes unwritten

A return filed on time, a clean set of books, a question answered the same day. That is the client who would happily write a review, and the one nobody asks, because the team is already on the next file.

The fee surprise

A client expected one price and the invoice showed another, because the year turned out more complicated than they said. The review calls the firm expensive, and with no reply that is the only side a prospect reads.

A reply that says too much

Someone at the firm answers a complaint by explaining what the client forgot to bring and when. Every detail is accurate, and every prospect reading it wonders what the firm would say about them in public.

“Working with Clint is an absolute delight! He is very knowledgable, a great communicator, has wonderful and creative ideas, and is so easy to collaborate with. 10/10 would recommend working with BlakSheep Creative!!”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request when the work is done

A text or email with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent when the return is filed, the year is closed or the engagement ends. With Grow it fires from the pipeline, not from someone remembering in April. Grow for accounting firms

Problems reach you first

The same message asks how it went. Anyone who mentions a question about the bill or a letter they received gets a call from the firm. Everyone still gets the review link, because filtering who is asked breaks Google’s policies.

Replies with no client details

Each review gets a reply in your voice. A short thank you for a good one that never names the service or the client’s situation, and a calm answer for a bad one that invites a call to the office instead.

Fee and turnaround complaints handled calmly

A reply that explains in general terms how the firm sets fees and timelines, such as quoting after a first look at the year, without discussing the reviewer’s file. If the firm missed a promised date, the reply says so.

Policy reports, not removals

Fake reviews, posts from someone who was never a client and reviews meant for another firm are reported with the specific Google policy cited. Google decides. A genuine complaint stays up and gets a reply.

Reviews on your site, marked up honestly

Your best reviews placed on the service pages they describe, such as a bookkeeping review on the bookkeeping page, with review markup only where those reviews are visible on the page. Accounting firm website design

The short answer

Reputation management for accounting firms is earning and answering the reviews prospects read before they trust you with their finances. We send a request to every client when a return is filed or the books are closed, reply to every review in your voice without confirming anything about the client, answer fee and turnaround complaints calmly, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews on your site.

Common questions about reputation management for accounting firms

When should an accounting firm ask for a review?
When the work is done and the client feels relief: the return is filed, the refund is on its way, or the books are closed for the year. A text with a one-tap link works better than a line in an email signature. Ask every client, not just the long-time ones.
How should we reply without breaking client confidentiality?
Never confirm that the reviewer is a client, and never mention their return, their numbers or what they brought in. Thank them, state the firm’s general practice and invite them to call the office. A prospect reading the reply wants to see that you would protect them the same way.
What about a review that says our fees were too high?
Answer calmly and for the next reader. Explain in general terms how the firm sets fees, such as quoting after reviewing the year, and invite the reviewer to call to talk it through. Do not discuss what their year involved. Publishing how you price engagements on the site prevents many of these.
Can we offer a discount for a review?
No. Google’s policies do not allow anything of value in exchange for a review, and a discount tied to a good rating can get reviews removed from the profile. Ask every client with no strings attached, make it one tap, and let honest reviews carry the rating.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Only if it breaks Google’s policies, such as a fake review, one from someone who was never a client, or one about a different firm. We report those with the policy cited, and Google decides. A genuine complaint stays up, so the calm reply is what you control.
Can we only send the review link to happy clients?
No. Sending the link only to clients who said they were satisfied is review gating, and Google’s policies prohibit it. Ask everyone. The same message can ask how the engagement went so you hear about a problem first and can call, but every client still gets the link.
