Reputation Management

Plumber Reviews, Asked For After Every Job.

Your tech fixed the leak, the customer was thrilled, and the van left before anyone mentioned a review. Weeks later the only new one is from the job that ran long, and homeowners in a hurry read the newest first. We text every customer a review link when the job closes and answer every review.

  • Homeowners choosing a plumber in a hurry lean on the newest reviews, so a steady flow of recent ones matters more than an old pile.
  • Asking every customer when the job closes, while the water is back on and the floor is dry, builds that flow. Asking only the happy ones breaks Google’s policies.
  • A calm reply to a complaint about price, a mess left behind or a second visit is written for the next homeowner reading it, not to win the argument.
  • Google’s policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards tied to positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why busy plumbing companies end up with thin profiles.

The tech is already at the next address

Your techs finish, take payment and drive to the next call. Nobody asks for a review, the office forgets by the end of the day, and the profile goes quiet while the work stays good.

The price surprised them

Someone expected a small number for a small leak and got a bigger one. That review sits near the top with no reply, and every homeowner comparing plumbers assumes the worst about your pricing.

Old complaints, no answer

A review from two summers ago about a late arrival still has no reply. Readers do not see that the problem was fixed. They see a company that never answered.

“It’s been a blessing working with Clint over the years on website projects. He always makes it look better than I had pictured in my mind.”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request after every closed job

A text with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent to every customer when the job is marked done. With Grow it fires from the job record, not from a tech remembering in the truck. Grow for plumbers

Problems reach you first

The same message asks how the job went. Anyone who says the drain is still slow or the leak is back gets a call from the office that day. Everyone still gets the review link, because filtering who is asked breaks Google’s policies.

Every review answered

Each review gets a reply in your voice: a short thank you that names the work in general terms for a good one, and a calm, specific answer for a bad one, without posting anything about the customer’s home in public.

Price and callback complaints handled honestly

A reply that explains in general terms what was quoted, what the tech found and what the company will do now, with a direct line to the owner. If the company got it wrong, the reply says so.

Policy reports, not removals

Fake reviews, posts from someone who was never a customer and reviews meant for another plumber are reported with the specific Google policy cited. Google decides. A genuine complaint stays up and gets a reply.

Reviews on your site, marked up honestly

Your best reviews placed on the service pages they describe, such as a water heater review on the water heater page, with review markup only where those reviews are visible on the page.

The profile the stars sit on

Reviews show on your Google Business Profile, and the categories, services, hours and photos that decide whether you appear in the map pack are a separate job. Google Business Profile for plumbers

The short answer

Plumber reviews decide which company under the map a homeowner calls first, and SE Ranking shows 810 US searches a month for the phrase. We text a review request to every customer when the job is closed out, reply to every review in your voice, answer complaints about price, a mess or a callback honestly, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews on your service pages.

Common questions about reputation management for plumbers

When should a plumber ask for a review?
Right after the job is closed out, the same day. The water is back on, the customer is relieved and the tech’s name is still fresh. A text with a one-tap link beats asking them to search for you later. Ask every customer, including the small jobs, and keep the message short.
How should we reply to a review that says we charged too much?
Calmly and for the next reader. Thank them, explain in general terms what the job required and how the price was set, and invite them to call the owner to go over the invoice. Do not argue line items in public. A measured reply often reassures more than the complaint worries.
What if the review says the leak came back?
Treat it as a service call first. Reply that the company wants to make it right, give a direct number, and send someone out. If the return visit fixes it, a short follow-up reply saying so helps. Homeowners know plumbing sometimes takes a second look; they judge how you handled it.
Can we offer a discount for leaving a review?
No. Google’s policies do not allow incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans rewards conditioned on positive reviews and bans fake ones outright. Ask every customer with no strings attached, make it one tap, and let honest reviews carry the rating over time.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Only if it breaks Google’s policies, such as a fake review, one from someone who was never a customer, or one about a different company. We report those with the policy cited, and Google decides. A genuine complaint about your work stays up, so the reply is the part you control.
Can we only send the review link to happy customers?
No. Sending the link only to customers who said they were satisfied is review gating, and Google’s policies prohibit it. Ask everyone. The same message can ask how the job went so you hear about a problem first and can fix it, but every customer still gets the link.
