Reputation Management

Pest Control Reviews, Answered With Discretion.

Quarterly customers rarely see the tech, and a quiet house never prompts a review. The customer who still saw roaches a week after the first treatment writes one that night. Now every neighbor comparing exterminators reads it first. We ask every customer and answer every review without exposing anyone’s home.

  • Homeowners read pest control reviews for whether the problem went away, whether the tech was on time and careful in the house, and how follow-ups were handled.
  • Ask every new plan customer once, after the first treatment has had time to work, and every one-time customer when the job is done. Asking only the happy ones breaks Google’s policies.
  • Nobody wants the neighbors to know they had bed bugs or rodents. A reply should never name the pest, the address or the treatment for a specific customer.
  • Google’s policies prohibit offering incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans fake reviews and rewards tied to positive ones.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why effective exterminators end up with buggy profiles.

Good service is invisible

When a plan works, the customer sees nothing: no ants, no droppings, no wasps. Nobody reviews an absence, so the profile goes months without a new one while the work stays good.

The still-seeing-bugs review

Activity can continue for a while after some treatments, and the customer posts that the service did not work. Without a reply that explains follow-ups, every neighbor reads it as a failed job.

Replies that say too much

A well-meant reply confirms the customer had bed bugs, or mentions their street. The customer is embarrassed in public, and the next homeowner wonders what you would say about them.

“Clint has been a TRUE BLESSING!!! He has tirelessly achieved what others could not! Looking forward to continuing to work together from here on out. If you need any website assistance / development / maintenance...do not hesitate to give him a call - you will not be disappointed!!!”

What you get

Built to book the job.

A request after the first treatment

A text with a one-tap link to your Google review box, sent to every new plan customer once the first treatment has had time to work and to every one-time customer when the ticket closes. With Grow it goes out on its own, not when a tech remembers between stops. Grow for pest control companies

Problems reach you first

The same message asks whether the problem is under control. Anyone still seeing activity gets a call to schedule a follow-up. Everyone still gets the review link, because filtering who is asked breaks Google’s policies.

Every review answered with discretion

Each review gets a reply in your voice: a thank you for a good one and a calm, specific answer for a bad one, without naming the pest, the address or the treatment for that customer in public.

Still-seeing-bugs complaints handled honestly

A reply that explains in general terms that some treatments take time and that follow-up visits are part of the service, when they are, with a direct way to reach the owner. If the tech missed something, the reply says so.

Policy reports, not removals

Fake reviews, posts from someone who was never a customer and reviews meant for another pest control company are reported with the specific Google policy cited. Google decides. A genuine complaint stays up and gets a reply.

Reviews on your pest and plan pages

Your best reviews placed on the pages they describe, such as a termite review on the termite page and plan reviews beside the quarterly plan, with review markup only where those reviews are visible on the page.

The short answer

Pest control reviews are what a homeowner reads before letting a technician into the house, and SE Ranking shows 480 US searches a month for the phrase. We send a review request after every first treatment and one-time job, reply to every review in your voice without confirming what pest anyone had, answer still-seeing-bugs complaints honestly, report only reviews that break Google’s policies, and place real reviews on your pest and plan pages.

Common questions about reputation management for pest control

When should a pest control company ask for a review?
For a new plan customer, once the first treatment has had time to work, often after the follow-up visit if your plan includes one. For a one-time job such as a wasp nest, the same day. One ask per plan customer is enough; do not send a request after every visit. Ask every customer, not only the ones who seem happy.
How should we reply when someone says the treatment did not work?
Calmly and for the next reader. Thank them, explain in general terms that some treatments take time and that follow-ups are part of the service if they are, and invite them to call so a tech can come back. Do not argue, and do not describe their home.
Can our reply mention what pest they had?
No. Even if the customer named it, keep the reply general. Confirming bed bugs, rodents or termites at a specific home can embarrass the customer and make other homeowners wary of calling you. Thank them, address the concern, and take the details offline.
Can we give a free service for a review?
No. Google’s policies do not allow incentives for reviews, and the FTC rule in force since October 2024 bans rewards conditioned on positive reviews and bans fake ones outright. Ask every customer with no strings attached, make it one tap, and let honest reviews from treated homes carry the rating over time.
Can you get a bad review removed?
Only if it breaks Google’s policies, such as a fake review, one from someone who was never a customer, or one about a different business. We report those with the policy cited, and Google decides. A genuine complaint about your service stays up, so the reply is what you control.
Can we only send the review link to happy customers?
No. Sending the link only to customers who said they were satisfied is review gating, and Google’s policies prohibit it. Ask everyone. The same message can ask how the treatment went so you hear about a problem first and can fix it, but every one of them still gets the link.
