The Legion Fund Case Study: 880,000 Impressions for a Veterans Nonprofit
The Legion Fund is a nonprofit that supports veterans and members of the 5th Special Forces Group (Airborne), a Green Beret unit based at Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
We built its website: donation pages, a store, and pages that tell the unit's story. A small nonprofit rarely has an advertising budget, so search has to do the work. Here is what it did over the last twelve months.
What We Built
The site was built around two things a supporter might want to do, give and buy, and one thing a far larger audience wants to do, which is learn. Pages on the history of the 5th Group and on what a Green Beret is answer questions people search every day, and they put the Fund in front of readers who had never heard of it.

What Other Businesses Can Take From This
The Fund ranks on page one for "green beret," a search that showed its site 182,492 times in a year. Almost none of those searchers were looking for a nonprofit. They were looking for an answer, and the Fund's page gave it to them.
That is the opportunity for any cause-based organization. The people who will support you are already searching for the subject you know best. Publish the definitive answer and they find you.
