SEO for HVAC Companies
The 2am no-cool call and the November heat pump quote are two different searches. Most HVAC sites are built to catch neither one.
Organic Search Built Around a Demand Curve That Swings Twice
Cooling is not a niche market. The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s 2020 Residential Energy Consumption Survey put air conditioning in 88% of U.S. households, 93% across the South Census Region, with two-thirds of homes running a central system or a central heat pump.
So the market is not the problem. Nearly every house on the route is a customer eventually. The problem is that those households search in two modes that have almost nothing in common.
One is panic. It is 96 degrees, the air handler is silent, and the phrase typed into a phone is three words long. The other is homework. The system is fifteen years old, it still limps along, and the homeowner spends six weeks reading about sizing, efficiency ratings, and monthly payments before anyone gets a call.
A single Services page cannot answer both. BlakSheep Creative is a veteran-owned agency in Denham Springs, Louisiana. We build HVAC sites where every job has its own page, every page answers one question, and the emergency search and the replacement research each land somewhere that converts.
THE STRUCTURE PROBLEM
Why the Site Ranks in April and Disappears in July
Diagnosing a failing TXV in ten minutes is real expertise. None of it shows up in a search result. These are what usually keep an HVAC site off page one:
- Heating and cooling share one page. A page called Heating and Air Conditioning Services competes with itself in both seasons and wins neither. Google ranks pages that answer one problem, not pages that list a department.
- Nothing exists for the replacement. A full changeout is the highest ticket job you run and the most researched. If the site says nothing about sizing, efficiency ratings, or what the install day looks like, that homeowner reads somebody else’s page and calls them instead.
- Financing is left a mystery. Payment questions come up on nearly every replacement quote. A site that stays silent on financing gets the call after the homeowner already priced it somewhere that answered.
- City pages built from one template. Nine towns, one paragraph, the name swapped. Google has recognized that pattern for over a decade and does not reward it.
- The map pack category is wrong. Primary category moves near-me visibility more than any single on-page change. Plenty of HVAC profiles sit under a generic contractor category and nobody has ever looked.
- Maintenance agreements have no page. The plan revenue that carries you through a mild spring exists only as a clipboard the tech carries. No page, no pricing, no way to sign up at 9pm.
- Commercial work hides behind residential copy. Rooftop units, chillers, and preventive maintenance contracts sell to a different buyer who types different words. One page for both audiences loses both.
- The site crawls on a phone in a hot driveway. That is exactly where the emergency search happens. A four second load is a call that went to the next result.
None of these are judgment calls. Each one is a specific structural gap with a specific fix.
THE PLAN
Do the Ranking Work in the Shoulder Season
The ranking work has to be finished before the season it was meant to catch.
Organic search is slow. A page published in the last week of June will not rank for a July heat wave. So we build against the calendar in reverse. Cooling content goes live in late winter. Heating content goes live in late summer. The quiet months, when the phone slows down and the techs have hours, are when the search work actually gets done.
The architecture is one page per job. No-cool and no-heat repair. Air conditioning replacement. Furnace and heat pump replacement. Ductwork. Indoor air quality. Maintenance agreements. Commercial service. Each gets its own URL, its own title, and its own honest answer, and each links to the two pages a reader most likely wants next.
Service area pages get built the same way, which means they get built slowly. A city page earns its ranking when it names the neighborhoods, the housing stock, and the jobs you have actually run there. Three real city pages beat nine thin ones, so we would rather ship three and add the fourth next quarter.
Then we point the repair pages at the replacement pages and the replacement pages at the maintenance agreement. A no-cool call in August is one transaction. The same homeowner on a plan is a decade of revenue and the first call when the system finally quits. Internal linking is what carries a reader from one to the other.
WHAT IS IN SCOPE
The Search Work We Actually Run
Nine parts of one system. Most HVAC companies start with the two that are costing them the most, and those two are rarely the ones they expected.
NO LOCK-IN, NO MYSTERY INVOICE
Why HVAC Owners Stay With Us
You run a business where the equipment is expensive, the techs are the real constraint, and one bad August follows you for years. Here is what working with us looks like:
- We build for both seasons and the quiet in between. Most agencies write one air conditioning page in May and go dark. Heating, maintenance agreements, and commercial service get the same attention here.
- Veteran-owned and owner-run. Clint Sanchez is a US military veteran and he runs this agency himself. You talk to the person doing the work, not an account manager reading a script.
- We will tell you to rank in fewer cities. Three trucks cannot service eight towns. Ranking there anyway produces calls you have to turn down, and turned-down calls become the reviews you did not want. We would rather own four.
- Cancel anytime. No twelve month lock-in. If the work stops producing, you stop paying, and the pressure stays where it belongs.
- You own all of it. The site, the domain, the Google profile, the content, the tracking numbers. It stays yours on the day you leave.
- Reporting in booked jobs. Calls, forms, work on the board, and which page produced it. Not a dashboard of impressions nobody acts on.

HVAC Search Questions, Answered
The things owners ask us before they sign anything.
Google Business Profile work moves first. Category, service list, photos, and review flow can shift map pack position inside a few weeks. Page-level organic rankings for terms like AC repair in your city generally take three to six months of steady work. Plan the build around your seasons, not around the month you signed.
Yes, and so should repair and replacement. Four pages instead of one. A combined page has to hedge on every sentence, so it never fully answers a no-heat search or an AC replacement search. Splitting them also gives you something specific to update ahead of each season.
Fewer than most agencies sell you. Build a page for a town only when you can name the neighborhoods, the typical systems, and the work you have already done there, and only when you can staff the calls it produces. Three strong city pages outperform nine thin ones every time.
It is one of the most valuable pages on an HVAC site and it is missing from most of them. The plan is what pays the bills through a mild spring, and it is the reason the replacement call comes to you instead of a stranger. Give it pricing, terms, and a way to sign up without talking to anyone.
Most residential operators land on HVAC Contractor, but it depends on the job mix. A shop that mainly runs cooling repair may do better under Air Conditioning Repair Service, and a heating-heavy northern market may not. It is worth testing deliberately rather than picking once and forgetting it.
That is where the biggest gain usually sits. Replacement buyers research for weeks, and almost all of that research happens on pages, not phone calls. Sizing guides, efficiency explanations, honest cost ranges, and financing answers put you in the conversation long before the quote request.
One site, two clearly separated sections. Commercial buyers search for rooftop units, chillers, and preventive maintenance contracts, and they read very differently than a homeowner. Mixing both audiences into one Services page is the most common reason an HVAC company loses commercial search entirely.
Yes. We are based in Denham Springs and we work with heating and cooling contractors across the United States. Local search is location work, not proximity work. We do not take on two competing HVAC companies in the same service area.
