Web Design & Development

General Contractor Website Design That Gets You on the Bid List.

An owner’s rep has three general contractors to shortlist and ten minutes for each website. Yours shows a slideshow and a phone number. No project sizes, no license class, no bonding, nowhere to send plans. The one with all of that gets the invitation. We build general contractor websites that answer the shortlist questions first.

  • The people who shortlist a general contractor read the website for scope, sectors, and credentials before they call.
  • A project page that states the size, the contract type, and what you self-performed says more than a photo gallery.
  • A bid invitation is not a contact form. It needs a place for plans, a bid date, and a project location.
  • Subcontractors are an audience too. A sign-up form with trade, license, and insurance saves a round of phone calls on every job.

What keeps the phone quiet

Why most general contractor websites miss the shortlist.

Projects with no scope

A photo of a finished building says nothing about what you did on it. Owners and architects look for square footage, contract type, schedule, and your role. Without those, a ground-up build and a tenant fit-out look the same.

Credentials buried or missing

License classification, bonding, insurance, and safety record are what a prequalification form asks for. When the website does not state them, the reader assumes the answer is no and moves to the next name.

One contact form for everyone

An owner with drawings, a homeowner with an idea, a subcontractor looking for work, and a supplier all land in the same inbox. The bid invitation gets answered late because it looked like everything else.

“I have been working with Clint, BlakSheep for over 2 years now and they have absolutely crushed it for my business. I highly recommend and I send everyone looking for their services to them. My wife just signed up also!”

What you get

Built to book the job.

Project pages with scope and role

Each completed job on its own page: sector, size, contract type, schedule, and what your crews self-performed. Sorted by sector, so an owner finds the building type they are planning.

A page for every sector

Commercial, industrial, medical, retail, multifamily, custom homes, whatever you build. One page each, written for the searches and the buyers in that sector.

Credentials where they get checked

License classification and number, bonding, insurance, and your safety program on a page of their own and in the footer, in the wording you give us.

A bid invitation form

Project location, type, bid date, and a file upload for plans, kept apart from the general contact form and routed to estimating.

Subcontractor and supplier sign-up

Trade, license, insurance certificate, and service area collected in one form, so the list you bid from stays current.

The 60 seconds after they click

With Grow Pro, every form and call gets a text back within seconds, missed calls get a text, bookings happen online, and every lead sits in one pipeline with Facebook and Instagram messages beside it. A website alone does nothing in that minute. This does. Part of Grow

A careers page

Open roles for superintendents, project managers, and field crews, with a short application that works on a phone.

  • “Clint took my company's project much further than I ever expected. His tech experience was fantastic, but even more than that, he guided me in directions I hadn't anticipated. We hadn't planned on some of the changes he suggested, but he made it all bigger, better and bolder.”

  • “Clint and the team at Blaksheep have truly exceeded our expectations. From day one, the communication was clear, prompt, and professional. We were never left guessing where things stood. The work they've done on our website and social media presence has been outstanding.it looks great, functions seamlessly, and really captures the essence of our brand. We're so grateful to have found a team that combines creative talent with such reliability and responsiveness. We're genuinely excited to continue growing with Blaksheep and can't recommend them highly enough!"”

  • “Shoutout to our IT wizard for fixing our work email and saving us all from a slow descent into chaos, carrier pigeons, and “did you get my message?” debates. He calmly swooped in, pushed some mysterious buttons only he understands, and—like magic—emails started working again. No dramatic sighs. No eye-rolling (at least not where we could see it). Just quiet competence and the subtle confidence of someone who knows we would’ve absolutely made it worse if we tried ourselves. Emails are flowing. Productivity is restored. Sanity levels have stabilized.”

  • “I cannot RAVE and PRAISE enough about who Clint is as a person AND the amount of talent he holds. Genuine, funny, relaxed, and could not have asked for a better graphic designer to work with. When everyone else didn’t meet the expectations I needed for a really personal project, Clint exceeded above and beyond. THANK YOU to this man and the quality work he resulted me with. I will FOREVER use him in any and all design projects going forward!!!”

    Megan TheriotGoogle review, 2026
  • ““BlakSheep Creative has completely changed how customers find my business.” Before working with Clint and the team, we were basically invisible online. Now we rank at the top of Google for all our core services — brush clearing, forestry mulching, land development — you name it. The leads we get are not just more frequent, they’re better quality. They took the time to understand our business, explained what they were doing in plain English, and followed through with results that speak for themselves. Couldn’t be happier with the service and support. If you own a service business in Livingston Parish and want to grow, this is the crew to call. – Adam Hodges Owner, Hodges Land Management Livingston, Louisiana”

The short answer

A general contractor’s website is read by the people deciding who gets invited to bid: owners, architects, property managers, and homeowners planning a large job. We build general contractor websites around what they check: completed projects with scope and your role, license and bonding details, the sectors you build in, and a way to send plans. Fixed quote before we start. The site is yours when it is done.

Common questions about web design & development for general contractors

How much does a general contractor website cost?
Website builds are priced per project, and you get the number in writing after a 15-minute call, good for 30 days. The more affordable way to own one is Grow Pro: the build fee is waived and you pay a monthly plan for the site plus the follow-up system behind it. Or take the one-time build with month-to-month hosting, or the 12-month website-and-marketing plan. About six weeks from deposit to live.
What should a general contractor website include?
Completed projects with scope and your role, a page for each sector you build in, license, bonding, and insurance details, a bid invitation form that accepts plans, a subcontractor sign-up, and a careers page. Add your service area and the people a client will deal with. Those are the things a shortlist is built from.
How is this different from a website for a single trade?
A roofer or a painter sells one service to a homeowner, so the site is built around service pages and a quote form. A general contractor is hired to run the whole job, often by an owner or an architect, so the site is built around projects, sectors, and credentials. We build both, and they are different sites.
Can owners and architects send plans through the website?
Yes. The bid invitation form takes the project location, type, and bid date along with a file upload for drawings, and it goes to the person who handles estimating. It is kept apart from the general contact form, so an invitation is never mistaken for a sales call.
Do you build websites for residential general contractors?
Yes. Remodels, additions, and custom homes need the same structure with a different reader: a homeowner comparing two or three contractors. Project pages show the before and after, the scope, and the town, and the estimate form stays short enough to finish on a phone.
Do you work with general contractors outside Louisiana?
Yes. We are in Denham Springs and build for contractors across the Baton Rouge area and out of state. Transworld Construction, a general contractor in the San Francisco Bay Area, is one of the sites in our portfolio.
