How We Reskinned a Veteran Nonprofit’s Website Into a Mission That Recruits Donors, Volunteers, and Warriors
Warrior Ridge is a veteran-founded nonprofit in Vanceburg, Kentucky that gives America’s elite warriors free retreats to reconnect and rebuild their Warrior Family. The mission is powerful. The old website did not carry the weight of it. So they came to a veteran-owned agency that understood the assignment.
We reskinned the site from the ground up: a darker, sharper brand, real photography of the teams they serve, and a clear path for every visitor. A donor can give in a few taps. A volunteer can sign up. A veteran can nominate their team for a retreat. The redesign turns a heartfelt mission into an organized machine that keeps the Warrior Family growing.
Redesigned to Turn Visitors Into Donors and Volunteers
- A gold “Donate” action pinned in the header on every screen, so support is always one tap away
- Dual hero calls to action, “Nominate a Team” and “Support the Mission,” that split visitors by intent from the first scroll
- Clear paths to Volunteer, Subscribe, and sponsor the Warrior 50 without hunting through menus
- Mobile-first layouts for the phone, where most veterans and supporters find them
Every page points to a next step, so a visitor moved by the mission has somewhere to put that feeling.
Designed to Honor the Mission and the Warriors
- A dark, disciplined brand with gold and crimson accents that reads as elite, not corporate
- Real imagery of the warriors and teams Warrior Ridge serves, front and center
- Storytelling that leads with the “Born From a Bonfire” origin and the Warrior Family promise
- Typography and spacing built to feel proud and purposeful on any device
The design tells a veteran, in a glance, that this is a place built by people who understand the walk.
Structured So Every Program Has a Home
- Dedicated space for Retreats, The Warrior 50, Warrior of the Week, and Warriors Walk
- A clean Nominate flow so units can be put forward for a free reconnection retreat
- A Media hub and a Shop that carry the brand without cluttering the mission
- Navigation organized around what visitors actually come to do, not an org chart
Each program finally has room to breathe, so no part of the mission gets lost in the menu.
Built to Grow Reach and Reputation
- Fast, lightweight pages that load quickly on a phone in the field
- Clean structure and technical SEO so supporters can find the organization by name and by mission
- Email capture and a subscribe path to keep donors and volunteers in the loop
- A scalable build so new programs, retreats, and sponsors can be added without a rebuild
This is not a digital brochure. It is a growth engine built to widen the Warrior Family every year.
“Our mission is heavy, and our old site did not carry it. The redesign finally looks and feels like who we are. Now a supporter can find us, understand the mission in seconds, and give, volunteer, or nominate a team without friction.”
— Landon Bentley, Executive Director & Founder, Warrior Ridge
