How We Built a College-Recruiting Website for a Class of 2028 Softball Catcher

Kennedi Fair is a class of 2028 catcher, first baseman, and utility player from Port Allen, Louisiana, playing travel ball for the Louisiana Lady Dukes and high school ball at Brusly. She runs the game from behind the plate, hits in the middle of the order, and has already played up to 18U at age 14. What she did not have was one place to send a college coach.

Like most recruiting families, Kennedi’s profile lived on scattered links and rented platforms she did not control. She needed a home base she owns: a fast, modern site where a coach can see verified stats, watch catching and hitting film, check her showcase schedule, and reach her in a couple of taps.

Built to Put a Recruit in Front of College Coaches

  • A single-page recruiting profile a coach can scan in under a minute
  • A prominent “Contact a Coach” call to action that routes straight to Kennedi and her family
  • Verified positions, class year, height, bats and throws, GPA, and NCAA eligibility ID up top
  • Film sorted by skill so a coach sees catcher defense, hitting, and lessons without hunting
  • Mobile-first design, because coaches open these links on their phones between games

Every section answers a question a coach is already asking: can she catch, can she hit, can she compete in the classroom, and how do I reach her.

Designed to Look as Serious as the Athlete

  • A custom brand built around Kennedi’s number, colors, and real action photography
  • A bold, animated identity that reads as a college program, not a template
  • Full-bleed game photos that lead with Kennedi behind the plate and at the bat
  • A clean, modern layout that treats a 14-year-old recruit like the prospect she is

The design tells a coach this is a family that takes the process seriously, before they read a single stat.

Structured So Coaches Can Evaluate in Minutes

  • An About section that frames her game behind the plate and in the order
  • A film room with catcher defense, hitting, and batting-lesson playlists, updated through the season
  • An honors timeline covering USSSA podium finishes, a World Series MVP, and district titles
  • A live showcase and tournament schedule so coaches know exactly where to see her play
  • A camps section showing the college programs she has already worked in front of

Instead of chasing links across five platforms, a coach gets the full evaluation in one scroll.

Owned by the Player, Built to Last

  • Kennedi owns the site and the domain outright, with no yearly recruiting-platform subscription
  • Fast, reliable hosting so the page loads instantly when a coach clicks the link
  • A structure built to update each season as new stats, film, and honors come in
  • A permanent recruiting home that follows her from travel ball through her commitment

This is not a profile she rents. It is an asset she keeps, ready to grow with every season she plays.

“Anchored behind the plate. Built to compete.”
