Client: Pointe Coupee Fire Protection District 4
Industry: Public Safety / Fire Service
Location: Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana
Project Type: Website Redesign + Structure Overhaul
Overview
Pointe Coupee Fire Protection District 4 (PCFD4) serves communities across southern Pointe Coupee Parish with a combination of professional and volunteer firefighters. Their website, once outdated and difficult to navigate, needed a full overhaul to better serve both the public and internal personnel. BlakSheep Creative was brought in to rebuild the site from the ground up with a modern interface, mobile responsiveness, and simplified navigation.
The Challenge
The previous PCFD4 site was underperforming. Key information such as station details, apparatus, volunteer opportunities, and fire safety education was buried or incomplete. There was no consistent branding, and the site lacked modern accessibility and mobile optimization. The district needed a web presence that reflected the professionalism and community-first spirit of their department.
Our Approach
We began by restructuring the site map based on actual user needs—residents looking for safety resources, volunteers exploring opportunities, and firefighters checking shift calendars or apparatus assignments. Our goals were clarity, usability, and efficiency. Key steps included:
- Building a responsive design system tailored to PCFD4’s colors and badge identity.
- Creating unique pages for each station, apparatus, and division with high-resolution imagery.
- Developing a clean mobile-first layout for ease of use across devices.
- Integrating key calls-to-action like “Become a Volunteer” and “Learn More” across pages.
- Enhancing community engagement through educational blog content and public safety tips.

Website Highlights
Every section of the new site was designed to reflect PCFD4’s commitment to safety, service, and community.
Dynamic Homepage
The homepage opens with a bold hero image featuring an active fire scene and central calls-to-action. Key sections like Stations, Divisions, Apparatus, and Calendar are clearly displayed.
Volunteer Portal
One of the most critical features is a fully accessible volunteer recruitment page that explains the process, expectations, and benefits of joining the department.
Station + Apparatus Pages
Each station now has its own dedicated page with address, apparatus list, and imagery. Apparatus pages showcase individual units with descriptions and assignments.
Divisions + Shift Calendar
We developed new pages for Operations, Training, and Prevention divisions—each with custom language and photography. The integrated shift calendar helps keep internal teams informed.
Blog + Education
From smoke alarm tips to fire safety myths, the new blog educates the public and supports PCFD4’s outreach mission.
The Results
The new site is faster, easier to navigate, and significantly more functional. Community members can now access fire safety info, station data, and volunteer forms without confusion. Firefighters and volunteers benefit from an updated shift calendar and internal navigation tools. The improved user experience supports PCFD4’s mission of protecting lives and property through preparedness, transparency, and engagement.
