Our eCommerce Website Design Process
Picking an e-commerce platform is a big step for any company. There are many e-commerce platforms, like Big Commerce or Shopify, to name a few. Keypanels decided on choosing WooCommerce as their e-commerce solution because of its rich features and user-friendly capabilities for adding new products, changing prices, modifying designs, etc.
This particular eCommerce website conversion was from Etsy to Woocommerce. As Etsy has a more DIY feel, Woocommerce is better for e-commerce needs because it comes with e-commerce features and more flexibility in what you can do.
We also decided to do this particular e-commerce website conversion from Etsy because we wanted to manage inventory and create our own database for products, tags, categories, etc.
The team at Keypanels was looking for a WordPress developer with experience in migration and SEO techniques to make sure everything is set up correctly before launch.
When working with a product-based eCommerce website, they had to find the right balance between images and text. It was important that Keypanels’ customers could easily navigate the website, and there were no issues with SEO for WordPress.
After their decision to move forward with a new WordPress WooCommerce site was made, we converted Etsy’s data into Woocommerce. We also set up all category pages as custom post types in WordPress to be edited later on if needed or even created more if necessary.
