A Nashville trial firm needed a website that carries the weight of the cases it takes

HMC Civil Rights is a Middle Tennessee trial firm. Heather Collins and her team represent survivors and employees in sexual assault, civil rights, injury and employment cases, frequently against large employers, institutions and public entities. Most people who land on a site like this one arrive at the worst point of a bad year. It has to earn trust before it asks for anything.

BlakSheep Creative handles the website and SEO for this firm, working alongside Lisa M. Gale, the Nashville agency behind Heather’s branding. Lisa brought us in as her build partner and encouraged us to show the work. Everything below is on the live site today.

The firm’s promise leads the page

“Built for Trial. Centered on You.” is not a tagline we invented for the hero. It is how the firm actually describes its own approach, so we gave it the first line of the homepage rather than burying it three scrolls down.

  • The positioning statement sits in the hero, above the fold, on every screen size.
  • The four core practice groups follow immediately: sexual assault, employment, civil rights and injury.
  • An intake form shares the first screen, for people who would rather type than call.
  • The site explains that being built for trial does not mean every client ends up in a courtroom, which is the question most prospective clients are actually asking.

Twenty-one practice area pages, not one shared list

Civil rights and employment law is not one search. Someone fired after a disability disclosure and someone assaulted by a person in authority are looking for different things, in different words, at different moments.

  • 21 practice area pages, each with its own copy, its own headings and its own intake path.
  • Coverage across wrongful termination, disability discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, police abuse and class action work.
  • Every page carries the same practice-areas and areas-served rails, so a visitor who landed on the wrong page is one click from the right one.
  • Clean markup and schema so those pages are readable to search engines and to AI answer engines.

A page for a harm most firms have not written about yet

The firm takes AI generated image abuse and revenge porn cases. Almost nobody in the market has published a real page on it, which means the people searching for help are finding forums and news articles instead of a lawyer.

  • A dedicated page covering non-consensual deepfake pornography, morphed images, sextortion and image-based abuse.
  • Plain-language sections on what the law calls these harms, what those acts can violate and how the firm investigates them.
  • Written to be found by someone typing what happened to them, not by someone who already knows the legal term for it.

Real cities and real people, not a service-area blur

Middle Tennessee is not one market, and a survivor choosing a lawyer is choosing a person. The site treats both of those as design problems.

  • City pages for Nashville, Brentwood, Columbia, Franklin and Murfreesboro, so a search for an employment attorney in Murfreesboro lands on a page about Murfreesboro.
  • Six named attorney and staff bios, with photographs, rather than a single anonymous team paragraph.
  • A news section carrying 44 published articles, including the firm’s recognition as the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association’s 2025 Trial Lawyer of the Year.
  • Hours, address and a direct phone number in the footer of every page.
