We’re really excited to have been tasked with redesigning this existing Wix website.

So, what does it take to make an awesome podcast website?

Real Life Real Crime is an award-winning podcast. They’re all the rage both in Louisiana and the entire world.

Host Woody Overton is an experienced law enforcement professional who tells stories about their experiences in their own unique ways.

They had two existing sites, one website for the show (on Wix) and another WordPress-based website for their store.

They wanted to combine the two websites into one and redesign them to have more of a “wow” factor and be more SEO friendly.

Luckily, we know exactly what to do to keep your SEO momentum when redesigning a website.

Here’s what we’re doing.

Because this website design project was going to have many moving parts, we opted to build it on WordPress because, well, it’s the best. 

It allows for easy site updating, which is critical.

Explaining why will take a completely separate post and which we will create at a later time. For now, just take our word on it.

Back to the website. We decided not to recreate the wheel and use a child theme on this one.

This website uses a WordPress theme from sonaar.io , and man, it is incredible!

What’s under the hood.

This website is a one-stop-shop for the entire podcast. It boasts functionality such as:

  • podcast player
  • email newsletter integration
  • complete Woocommerce store
  • events listing and management

Stay tuned! More to come.

As a result of this site using WordPress as a Content Management System (CMS) instead of Squarespace, Wix, or some other proprietary page builder, the functionality is endless. The addition of an option for website visitors to schedule, mailing list signup, live chat, and online payments is certainly possible.

"So we've been working with Clint & Alec from Blaksheep Creative for a few months now. They created our main website for us. I worked with them first hand and had no idea what I was getting into!
